ok so my hair is very, very curly and very dry and coarse, I heard of using olive oil, but i am not sure when to put it in, after i wash my hair, before, what, help please!! thank-you!

It might look ridiculous, but you could try one of those little clear plastic caps made for hair treatments. You could apply your olive oil (like the other poster said, not too much) to your hair after washing and conditioning, then put the bag on for a little while.

If your hair is extremely dry, you could try rinsing only some of the oil out. Or try a spray bottle filled with water and oil. Naturallycurly.com is a useful website and a lifesaver for me. Check out the no-shampoo cleansing methods a lot of the gals use there. Good luck.

P.S. I've never heard of olive oil being "ghetto"; Italian/Greek/Roman women have been using it for beauty purposes for centuries. Depending on the type of hair, "grease" may be too heavy--it definitely is for mine. I only use it sparingly on my edges and ends when I straighten my hair.

i heard to put it in after you take a shower. Then wet a towel, put it in the microwave until it's warm, but not dry, and then wrap your oiled hair in the towel until the towel gets cool. I've tried it before and i also have curly dry hair and it has never looked as good as it did that day...the only problem is it is time consuming, so make sure you have enough time

Get some placenta leave in hair conditioner. Use it after you wash your hair and leave it in, style as usual. This will restore the moisture in your hair without making it greasy, also your hair will shine and be a bit more relaxed so you can do something with it.

try using herbal essences shampoo and conditioner and when you get ou fo the shower put some Biosilk. (not too much or it my get oily)

i know how you feel when it comes VERY curly hair lol!

i can strainten it but it wont stay and if i use a curling iron to change the type of curl in my hair then it doesn't work at all! my hair will just go in opposite directions than i want it too or it won't be affected at all. i put moose/gel in it and it works pretty well.

hun no need to be ghetto and use olive oil. what u do is get a type of hair grease called just for me kids at sallys at sally's or get a product called indian hemp. first wash and condition ur hair with moisture retainer then blow dry it after ur down. then part ur hair in sections and grease ur scalp. do this at least tice a weak.

I have the same issue and Olive oil is great- Use it as a hot oil treatment BEFORE washing- Wet your hair and apply the oil and let it penatrate then wash and condition as usual- Pantene also have a deep conditioner that works wonders on my course hair... Good Luck!
