i have very dry hair and a horribly dry scalp, i dont like head and shoulders or any harsh dandruff shampoos so im looking for something normal any suggestions? thanks!!!!!

It replenishes the hair and it makes your scalp less dandruffy. Also try Pantiene Pro-V if you got the dry scalp problem worked out. PPV is pretty good on dry hair.

Doo Gro Moisturizing Shampoo works wonders. It is a creamy shampoo that restores moisture to dry hair and promotes healthy growth. I use it about once a week and I have noticed a great deal of change. You also may want to try moisturizing with a feather light oil(or hairspray) at night or in the morning when styling. Doo Gro also has a hot oil treatment and conditioner that works pretty well.

Pert Dandruff Control Plus Conditioner. If you rub it in and let it it sit for 15 minutes your hair and scalp will be less dry. It worked for me!

There are several shampoos that contain coconut oil, and that moisturizes the scalp nicely.

I know that you probably don't have the time to go around testing shampoos and conditioners, and you probably don't want to buy the expensive stuff, but I really mean this. Until I started using John Frieda shampoo (Although I hear Toni%26amp;Guy or TiGi Bedhead is better) my hair was a MESS.

You need a shampoo that is GENTLE on your hair and scalp. If your hair is squeaky clean after you shampoo it, THAT'S BAD. It means the shampoo is too harsh and dries your hair. In my experience, Dove works pretty well. But for people with naturally bad hair (:P) you need the heavy artillery.

John Frieda's Frizz Ease shampoo works, okay, but the Shine Release Shampoo and Conditioners seem to get you better results almost instantaneously. Be sure to use a LITTLE bit. The size of a dime. Too much shampoo is bad for your hair.

Now, it's important that you keep in mind that everyone has different hair, so results may differ, but I'm sure it will help. Remember that you MUST condition your hair. Leave it in for AT LEAST 3 minutes.

Try not to use too many hair products either. Look at the ingredients for anything that ends with "ohol". Alcohol dries out your skin FAST. If you don't want to go with JF, try finding shampoos (and more importantly, conditioners) with eggs, honey, almond (or other nuts) oil, coconut, or cocoa.

It's also good to remember that you need protein in your diet for healthy nails and hair. Try taking some vitamin supplements, or increasing your protein intake.

Oh, and remember to use a intense conditioner treatment once every week or two.

Good question. Neutrogena sells a good shampoo that is called TGel which has the same purpose as head and shoulders but it's very gentle and works like regular shampoo. Another good one that works fantastic on dry anthing is Redken's All Soft shampoo and conditioner. It's pretty amazing stuff, but is a thick shampoo. You may want to go to your local beauty supply store and ask them for a sample before you commit to a whole bottle. It smells amazing, especially vs the Neutrogena stuff. Good luck!

Yes Head and Shoulders is gross, have you read the ingredients? And seen the weird color they make it.

My favorite shampoo and conditioners are by Aubrey Organics.

Their Honeysuckle %26amp; Rose is recomended for dry hair.

The other one I have tried was GBP.

Its quite expensive but you dont need all that much, they dont lather up as much as chemical shampoos but they still clean your hair leaving some of you scalps natural oils which is why your scalp may be dry because the other ones strip it completely.

Other things you might want to try are adding oils to your diet, such as flaxseed oil etc, you can mix it in your cereal or smoothies etc - its good for skin, nails and dry hair.
