I've bleached my hair a few times, so now whenever I take a shower, my hair feels like it has something in it - like it's all stuck together, yet - it's dry. I think it's just retaining water, but I'm not sure.

Sounds like your hair is over-processed which is common when you bleach it repeatedly. Especially if you are doing it yourself. None of the over the counter reccommendations is what you need. You need to see a hairstylist and get a good conditioning treatment done at the salon as well as a haircut, and some products she will be happy to help you pick out to keep up the maintenance. Don't re-color or bleach your own hair until it is healthy again, in fact, get it done proffessionally if you want it that light. It will save you money and a lot of grief.

The peroxide has really damaged your hair and you need to start conditioning it to bring your hair back to life. I used to bleach my hair a lot when I was younger and had the same problem. Get a good hot oil treatment for your hair. If the directions say to leave it on for 5 minutes, make it 8, and do this about two times a week. Also be sure to use a good shampoo AND conditioner when you shampoo, and about twice a month, use a clarifying shampoo ( Pantene makes a good one) to get rid of build-up of wax, oils, etc. from shampoos. In a month or so you're going to see a dramatic difference in the appearance of your hair! Hope this helps a little! Annie

Yes, your hair is dry the best advice i can give u is to use a really rich conditioner like a thickening one from pantene or a really good one i used to use is one from herbal essence the pink bottle when u get in the shower wash your hair and then rinse it then put the conditioner in and leav it in for like 5 minutes with out rinsing and dont put anything in your hair like bleaching it or coloring it for a while you should let it grow out to be healthier also my moms bestfriend used to tell me to wash my hair at night liek on a weekend put alot of conditioner in it then put a shower cap over it and then rinse it out in the morning. you should try one of those anyways i hope something i just blabberd on about will come of some use to you.
