My hair is dry/dead?

My hair is really dry and dead looking. it used to be straight when i was little, then i highlighted my hair and it turned wavy, then i highlighted it 2 more times and it turned really curly and dry. (i highlighted it last year). and now, im wondering is the hair im growing straight or curly? it seems straight.

Should i cut the dead hair off or is my hair permanently damaged

My hair is dry/dead?

You should defiantly cut all the dead hair, because that is not curly , that's damaged!

The structure of u r hair must be very thin, so highlights may look good but its not healthy for u r hair , or the hairdresser just wasn't good enough.

If u want highlights in the future , make sure the oxidant they use on u r hair is the smallest they have (like at least 3%) or just use blond color(not poweder).

Or give up on any blond in u r hair and get some blond extension that looks like hightlight.

Using conditioner for damaged hair after everywashing is also important. And u should use a mask once a week ( just sleep with it on all night or one hour then rinse it)

It sounds like your hair is damaged. Chemicals are really harsh!!

Give it a treatment (one of those deep, leave in ones), go to the hairdresser and get a trim to make it healthier.

I suggest do not blow dry or straighten it (with tongs) for a long time, as this will just take any moisture out. if it does not improve then ask the hairdresser for a treatment to help restore it.

Hope this helps. I dont know if it should be curly or straight...just let it recover!
