I had a similar problem and this is what a hairdresser recommended:

1. Use baby oil on your hair for about an hour. It is difficult to get out but it works great. You have to wash it out about 3 times to get it all out.

2. Use Finesse shampoo.

3. Herbal Essence conditioner.

4. If you're afraid to try baby oil, use VO5 hot oil treatments. They work for dry hair.

I stopped taking my Depacote medication, which was preventing my hair from growing and making it extra dry. Depacote is used for depression. I switched to Zoloft.

Today my hair is very long and shiny.

use egg white after u shampoo your hair. after shampooing your hair, rinse off then apply egg white on hair n scalp, leave it on for 5-10mins and rinse off wit cold water then use ur conditional.

it works for me but u have to constantly do it... maybe once every 2-3days. do it for 3months n u will see the long lasting result. (the duration depends on how worse ur hair condition is currently)

only use the egg white n not the egg york. coz egg white has protein. depend on ur hair length, if urs is short, 1 will do, if long, maybe u will need 2.

eggs are cheaper alternative for hair care treatment.

do not try this method if u r allergic to eggs.

u can also try adding salt when shampooing your hair, it will prevent hair loss n ur hair will not turn white so fast...(tis method is more for the elderly but it is nv too early to do prevention) my mum is using tis method now and it works too. =)

for the dry, use Pantene Pro-V shampoo and conditioner it'll say 75% smoother hair (it works great for dry hair 2)...and for the growth eat lots of protein, hair is made up completely of protein, so u need more to make it grow!

Use warm oil (almond oil, preferably). Massage it into your scalp SLOWLY (should take about 3 minutes, on average) once a week. Brush it down into your hair, every day. At least 100 brush-strokes per day, preferably all at the same time, before you go to bed. Use a natural shampoo, like Shikakai, and wash your hair with WARM water. Leave the shampoo in your hair at least 60 seconds, preferably 90 seconds. Do NOT use conditioner or shampoo with conditioner. Shampoo your hair once a week but no more than twice a week. When you do shampoo use LOTS of shampoo. Towel dry ONLY. Do NOT go into the sun with wet hair or use a hair dryer. Have your hair trimmed for split ends, about every 8 to 10 weeks. Don't ever leave your hair loose or in a pony-tail. Eat food with fiber in it, as well as nuts, such as peanuts and cashews. If you live in a warm climate, you can also put yogurt (plain, but not low-fat or fat-free) in your hair, every 3 months or so. The yogurt,. over a period of 2 or 3 years will give your hair a slightly softer texture and a lovely sheen (not shine). The effect is almost unnoticeable, so it is optional.

When your hair gets to your waist, send me a picture :-)
